It's a film titled Pop Aye, from writer/director Kristen Tan, about a man in Thailand who finds his long lost elephant and takes him on a journey home across the country. The description is so unique and this sounds so cool, that I was sold on it already, but this trailer makes it look like a . The film's cast features Thaneth Warakulnukroh, Penpak Sirikul, and Bong the elephant as . I also love the poster they made for this (seen below), and I can't wait to see the scene it's from. Don't miss this trailer. More often than not a good soundtrack in a movie can be just as captivating as the visuals in which it accompanies. We live within the world of that film as we experience watching it, but a good soundtrack – composed score or curated list of songs – can allow us to reengage with the film on a purely auditory level sometimes even offering up an entirely new perspective. It's why this list is always such a joy to put together at the end of any year (review my previous soundtrack picks for the Best of 2. Underworld: Next Generation Watch Movie 2016 Full-length Workout
Best of 2. 01. 3). Listed below are my Top 1. Soundtracks/Scores of 2. These are the scores and song lists I will surely be listening to in the coming months, the soundtracks that are every bit as memorable as the films themselves. Celebrate the day with this trailer for Sadako vs Kayako, a Japanese horror mashup pitting the evil ghosts The Ring and Grudge series against each other. It was inevitable that one day we'd see these two long- black- haired evil spirits battling in the same movie, like how it was obvious one day they'd make Freddy vs Jason. And just like that movie, this seems to be pretty bad, despite their best efforts to make something fun. The cast includes Mizuki Yamamoto, Tina Tamashiro, Aimi Satsukawa, and Misato Tanaka. This looks very silly, but thankfully not as terrible as the Scary Movie spoofs, but I'm still not sure. The rock song they use in the trailer seems like an odd choice. Frank Langella stars as the old timer curmudgeon who just wants to wrap up his life, and Billy Crudup co- stars as his son- in- law who drives him across the country and attempts to change his mind. The full cast includes Christina Applegate, Josh Lucas, Mary Kay Place, Nicola Peltz & Rebecca Blumhagen. I'm always impressed by Frank Langella, he's an excellent actor, and it's nice to see him in interesting roles like this. If fellow critic David Ehrlich says it's a highlight of Langella's career, maybe this is worth seeing. This violent action movie stars Jamie Foxx as an undercover cop who angrily heads into a nightclub to search for his kidnapped son. The cast features Michelle Monaghan, David Harbour, Dermot Mulroney, Gabrielle Union, Scoot Mc. Nairy, T. I. This isn't much of a red band trailer, there is barely anything to it, which is probably a metaphor for this movie. Early word is that it's really bad. You're better off just watching the original film. A trailer has debuted for Manifesto, a feature film version of an epic video installation project featuring 1. Cate Blanchett stars in the 1. The film is premiering at the 2. Sundance Film Festival coming up, but was also on display in New York and Berlin before. I've actually already seen all these segments individually, and they're incredible. Blanchett is phenomenal and brings so much nuance to each and every performance. This is more of an experimental art film than a narrative feature, but it's worth watching just for Blanchett alone. As we continue into the awards season in early 2. Next up is the Directors Guild of America, one of the heavy weights and usually strong indicators of what's to come. The DGA announced nominees for the Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film 2. The biggest upset seems to be Garth Davis sneaking in a nomination for Lion, but I've seen Lion and it's a great film, though not one of my favorites. I'm very happy to see Dan Trachtenberg of 1. Cloverfield Lane getting a nomination, as well as Damien Chazelle, Denis Villeneuve & Barry Jenkins. Keanu Reeves returns as the legendary unkillable assassin John Wick, who has to fight off countless more foes in Rome after taking out the Russian mobsters in the original. Featuring Ian Mc. Shane as Winston, with Ruby Rose, Bridget Moynahan, Peter Stormare, John Leguizamo, Thomas Sadoski, David Patrick Kelly, Common, Lance Reddick returning as Charon, and Laurence Fishburne. This new TV spot is awesome, and they've also released a . Her latest is a WWII- set comedy titled Their Finest about a British film crew that attempts to boost morale by making a propaganda film after the Blitzkrieg. Gemma Arterton stars as a writer, along with an impressive ensemble including Sam Claflin, Bill Nighy, Jack Huston, Paul Ritter, Rachael Stirling, Richard E. Grant, Henry Goodman, Jake Lacy, Jeremy Irons, Eddie Marsan and Helen Mc. Crory. This is also playing at the Sundance Film Festival coming up, and it looks like it's worth catching. The film is about a young veterinarian student named Justine, played by Garance Marillier, who is a vegetarian. Everything changes when she's forced to eat raw meat as part of a hazing ritual at the vet school, and things get bloodier from there on out. The cast includes Ella Rumpf, Rabah Nait Oufella, Laurent Lucas, Joana Preiss, Bouli Lanners, Marion Vernoux. This acclaimed film is also playing at Sundance coming up this month. This looks disgusting, but the rave reviews have me interested anyway. Sleight is about a street magician in Los Angeles who gives himself superpowers and takes on a local drug dealer to save his sister. Jacob Latimore plays Bo, with a full cast featuring Seychelle Gabriel, Dul. I wrote in my review . Dax Shepard directs himself in the comedy, co- starring Michael Pena, as well as Jessica Mc. Namee, Adam Brody, Ryan Hansen, Vincent D'Onofrio, Justin Chatwin and Kristen Bell. This seems a bit like a mix of Reno 9. Super Troopers, following in the footsteps of 2. Jump Street rebooting a TV show about cops into an all- out action comedy. This does look fun, and not as bad as I was expecting, but not sure how good it will be. I'm getting tired of all these old TV show updates, but that's just me. Official Tickets and Your Source for Live Entertainment. By clicking Next, you agree to the AXS. Terms and Conditions.
